This weekend will mark the much-needed return of a popular and beloved activity for local residents. The Cape Coral Farmers Market, operated by the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce for nearly three decades, will once again host a variety of vendors offering fresh fruits, vegetables and other wares from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in Club Square at Southeast 47th Terrace and Southeast 10th Place.

Two other Chamber-run venues will also begin serving the community again soon: The Mid-Cape Market returns Sunday, Oct. 9, at its new location of Mercola Market at 125 Southwest Third Place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Mid-Cape Sunshine Market at Mercola Market & Café, which was postponed on Oct. 4, will return on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All three markets will gather providers of produce, homemade foods like baked goods, meat and fish, hot and take-home foods and more.

“The Cape Coral Community can always count on The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral to be there for them,” said Claudia St. Onge, the chamber’s business manager and market director. “It’s a tough road ahead for everyone, but luckily, we are even tougher. We look forward to seeing our vendors and customers. While many vendors had damage, they are ready to get back and serve our customers with great foods.”

All of the markets are authorized EBT/SNAP markets offering double dollars. D SNAP (disaster benefits) will be accepted as well. Customers may use benefits for hot food through October 31.
