Capital High School’s Hana Moll can add another accolade to her growing list of impressive accomplishments. She’s officially the first high school girl to ever reach 15 feet in the pole-vault event in the United States.

Moll hit the personal-record 15 feet on her first attempt at the 55th Arcadia (California) Invitational on Saturday. Her twin sister, Amanda, finished second at 13 feet, 3 inches.

Amanda Moll has also reached the 15-foot mark, reaching 15-1.50 in an indoor meet in January at the UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit in Reno. The Moll twins are the only girls athletes to achieve the feat in U.S. high school history.

Hana and Amanda Moll both eclipsed the meet record of 14 feet at the Washington WIAA 2022 state track and field meet at Mount Tahoma last spring. Amanda won the event in the Class 3A tournament with a mark of 14-6, while Hana finished runner-up at 14-0.

Hana Moll also won the 100-meter hurdles event at last year’s state meet and was part of Capital’s title-winning 4x100 relay team, alongside Amanda, who also won the long jump event at last year’s state meet.

After her record-setting performance, Hana Moll is a candidate in this week’s TNT Athlete of the Week poll.
