Capital Health, Mercer: Do Not Call For Vaccine Appointments

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Capital Health in Mercer County said they’ve been receiving “thousands of calls” requesting COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

But the medical group said they do not make appointments.

“As of now, Capital Health is not administering the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public. Our operator has gotten thousands of calls,” said a spokesperson from Capital Health.

“We are asking folks not to call our hospitals or locations at the time to request a vaccine appointment.”

New Jersey recently expanded the number of vaccination sites across the state. New locations were also announced in Mercer County.

However, the sites mentioned on the state’s website, like Capital Health, do not accept vaccination appointments. People still must go the state website to get registered for the vaccine.

“Capital Health is currently administering COVID-19 vaccines as part of the state’s network of vaccine sites. Vaccines are being administered to eligible community members who have registered and are scheduled through the NJ Vaccine Scheduling System (NJVSS),” said the spokesperson from Capital Health.

Here’s how to register for the vaccine:

  • Visit NJVSS and provide your information to schedule an appointment. https://covidvaccine.nj.gov/

  • The state system will then contact individuals to schedule a vaccine when appointments are available.

  • Walk-ins are not accommodated.

  • Do not call the vaccination sites mentioned on the website to make an appointment.

  • Click here for additional vaccine information.

Around 9,147 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered so far in Mercer county, according to the state's vaccine hub.

The Mercer County Health Officers Association (MCHOA) has formed an alliance to maximize COVID-19 vaccination efforts across the county. The MCHOA will serve all Mercer towns throughout the four phases of the COVID-19 vaccination distribution.

The Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered throughout the county through municipalities' point of dispensing (POD) locations.
