CAPK Health and Hygiene Drive supporting residents at M Street Navigation Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Community Action Partnership of Kern is hosting their annual Health Hygiene Drive, and they need your help so they can help more people in the community.

The drive benefits unsheltered people who arrive at the M Street Low Barrier Navigation Center and provides a hot shower while addressing their immediate needs while guiding them towards achieving permanent housing and employment.

The items they need the most are travel size shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste along with new underwear, sports bras and socks for adults.

Love Links Luncheon to be held at Buck Owens Crystal Palace

Donations can be dropped off at the M Street Navigation Center on weekdays through April 30. Monetary donations are also welcome through the CAPK foundation.

Laurie Hughey with CAPK joined 17 News at Noon to talk more about the drive. Watch the video in the player for more details.
