BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Community Action Partnership of Kern’s VITA program is providing free tax assistance to qualified residents.
VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is a non-profit free of charge tax preparation service for individuals and families with a household income of less than $65,000, according to Jaquelyn Guerra, Program Administrator for CAPK VITA. Guerra joined 17 News at Noon to speak about the multiple services VITA offers the Kern residents.
The volunteer staff are IRS trained and certified and help members of the community bridge the gap in answering questions and meeting the April 15 tax deadline.
To get full advantage of the service, schedule a free appointment Monday through Friday by calling 211 or call 661-834-1724 and find a location near you or visit, VITA.CAPK.org.
