Captain America actor Chris Evans and Portuguese actress Alba Baptista are reportedly married

Captain America star Chris Evans, who has been named one of the “Sexiest Man Alive,” is officially off the market as it’s been reported that he and his Portuguese girlfriend Alba Baptista got married over the weekend.

The 42-year-old Boston born actor and the 26-year-old Portuguese actress were reportedly married last Saturday in an intimate, secret ceremony at their residence in the Boston area.

According to Page Six, which first reported the news, the guest list included some of the actor’s Marvel co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner. However, the ceremony was kept on the hush-hush as guests were asked supposedly asked to sign non-disclosure agreements and their phones were forfeited.

The couple reportedly met two years ago. Although there were rumors the two were together for some time, the relationship was only officially disclosed when Chris Evans posted on his Instagram stories a video with which they made known that they lived together.

Alba Baptista was the protagonist of the Netflix series “Warrior Nun.”

Born in Lisbon in 1997, she began her acting career in Portugal in 2014, with the popular series Jardins Proíbidos.

She made her film debut at age of 15 in the short film ‘Miami’ by Simão Cayatte.

Since then, she has starred in numerous Portuguese series and films, including Jogo Duplo, A Criação, A Impostora and Filha da Lei.

What was Alba Baptista's first English-language role?

Her first English-language role came in 2020 as Ava in the Warrior Nun.

Said to be the first Portuguese actress to star in a Netflix series, she has said her participation in the series arose from a stroke of luck, after having taking part and being recognized in 2018 at the SUBTITLE European Film Festival in Ireland.

Last year, she reprised her role as Ava in the second season of Warrior Nun.

The series has since then been canceled, but it will reportedly return as a trilogy of movies because of all the support it received from fans.
