Car Bursts Into Flames After Crashing Into Upstate New York Home

Crews battled a fire in the early hours of March 17, after a car drove into a New York home and burst into flames, firefighters said.

Firefighters were dispatched to a traffic collision in the hamlet of Preston Hollow after learning that “there was a car into a house and the car was on fire.” An off-duty paramedic who coincidentally was passing the home at the time of the crash helped rescue the two people in the burning car, firefighters said.

The two people in the home managed to escape out a bathroom window and were uninjured. The two people rescued from the car were taken to a nearby medical center for treatment. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, firefighters said.
