Car crashes through glass window, into downtown Glen Rock insurance business

A driver crashed through the plate glass façade of a Glen Rock insurance agency in the downtown business district Friday morning, though no one was injured.

Police said the car had been parked in front of The Heidt Agency, an insurance company on Rock Road, shortly after 11 a.m., when the driver put their foot on the gas pedal, thinking it was the break, and accelerated forward.

The sedan jumped the parking barrier, drove over the sidewalk and crashed into the building, hanging halfway through the window amid shattered glass and broken siding, according to Lt. Chris McInerney and photographs from the scene.

Only the driver was in the car at the time of the crash and no charges have been filed, he said.

An employee, who did not identify themselves, confirmed the business' name.
