Car crashes headlong into business in Rochester

On a summer night, there’s nothing like a Rocky Road Hyundai with a building on top.

A silver Hyundai crashed headlong into a business in Rochester around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, WHEC-TV reported. Cops said the driver driver crushed the accelerator instead of the brakes, according to the news station.

Images from the scene on the city’s northeastern side showed the auto’s hood ensconced in the building’s wooden frame.

The owner of the business, Mike Aqil, chalked the scene up to life in the upstate city. “It’s just Rochester man,” Aqil told WHEC. “It’s another story to write for 2020 in Rochester.”

Aqil has temporarily closed the Metro PCS cellphone shop for repairs after the SUV crash, Spectrum News reported.
