Car crashes into Tempe home; impairment suspected

A car crashed into a Tempe home early Friday morning after hitting another car and a light pole.

According to a police statement, at about 1:30 a.m., a vehicle collided with the back of another car and then struck a light pole before crashing into a Tempe home near South Mill Avenue and Baseline Road.

After being extracted by responding Tempe Fire Medical and Rescue personnel, the unidentified driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police believe the driver was impaired.

The driver of the second car was not hurt, and neither were the homeowners, Tempe police spokesperson Byron Thomas told The Republic.

No other information had been released.
