Car dangles over top level of Alewife T garage after crash, service disrupted
A car dangled over the top level of the MBTA’s Alewife garage in Cambridge on Saturday, after a crash that was intentional, according to MBTA Transit Police.
At least one person was injured in the crash around 1:30 p.m., the Cambridge Fire Department said in a tweet. Details on those injuries were not immediately available.
“The motorist’s actions were intentional,” the MBTA Transit Police said in a tweet. “No further information to be released at this time.”

The crash sent a concrete barrier and debris onto the station below, the MBTA said.
The Alewife MBTA is closed pending structural evaluation.
“Shuttle buses will continue to replace service between Alewife-Davis indefinitely as we assess the damage & work to safely reopen the station,” the MBTA said in a tweet shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.
