Car full of kids flips into woods as driver skids off road during chase, GA cops say

A car with three children inside crashed and flipped into the woods during a high-speed chase with a trooper, police in Georgia said.

A trooper noticed a white Chevrolet Camaro speed past him just after 6 p.m. Aug. 7 near Moreland Avenue in Atlanta, according to a news release from the Georgia State Patrol.

When the trooper tried to pull over the car for a traffic stop, the driver didn’t comply and a pursuit began, according to the release.

The driver got on Interstate 20 East and lost control of the car, according to police. The Camaro hit several vehicles before veering off the interstate and into the woods, where it flipped over.

When troopers arrived to the scene, they found three small children in the car, who were taken for medical treatment, the release said.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle after the crash, according to police.

The condition and identities of the children or driver have not been released.
