Car hits home in Central Topeka, occupants run away

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Police are investigating an incident after a car hit a home in central Topeka on Monday.

Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka told 27 News that police were called at 3:19 p.m. on Jan. 29 to the 1300 block of SW Western Avenue on a report of a non-injury crash. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle had crashed into a home.

Everyone inside the vehicle ran away from the scene of the crash. The crash caused a small gas leak from the house. The Kansas Gas Service was brought in to help fix the leak.

Topeka man sentenced for armed robbery at AutoZone

Nichols said there are no impacts to traffic at this time. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
