Car shows, cruise-ins list: Prince George, Colonial Heights, Chesterfield, Chester

Are you a car, truck or bike enthusiast? Local clubs are gearing up to razzle and dazzle spectators at numerous Saturday events in the Tri-Cities area.

Owners devote hours of elbow grease to make their pride and joys shine at shows and cruise-ins. Some may earn bragging rights, trophies, ribbons or cash prizes.

I compiled a list, so start your engines, pick the ones that tickle your fancy, and mark your calendars to attend the family-friendly happenings.

Numerous nonprofits benefit from the polished beauties. Gary Platz of Colonial Heights appreciates how car shows raise funds to help the community.

"A lot of folks have it in their heads that we run around and wreak havoc, but it's not like that," Platz said. "The events are great for car collector enthusiasts like me. We have a lot of camaraderie among us. Other folks around here will also find it entertaining."
