Car slams into back of school bus, building in Washington County
A car slammed into the back of a school bus before hitting a building in West Bethlehem Township.
According to Washington County 911, the crash happened in the 2300 block of Bealsville Road just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
Officials said a car hit the back of a Bethlehem-Center School District bus as it was letting kids on near the Fairfield Church. The bus was then pushed into a tombstone at a cemetery nearby and then into a house.
The school district said all children on the bus were suggested to be taken to Washington Hospital for precautionary measures. No physical injuries were reported.
All parents and guardians were notified of the accident immediately, the school district said.
“The Bethlehem Center School District’s primary concern has been and will continue to the safety of all students, staff members, and visitors within the Bethlehem-Center School District. Through teamwork and cooperation, the Bethlehem Center School District, our community members, and staff members will continue to resolve these issues and allow all students to receive an appropriate education in a safe and secure manner,” Bethlehem-Center School District superintendent Don L. MacFann said in a statement.
