Car Swept Down Street in Toledo, Spain, as Flash Flooding Hits Region

Severe flash flooding in a village in the province of Toledo, Spain, turned a street into a roiling river after heavy rain struck the region on September 1.

In this footage, waters rush furiously in the village of Guadamur as a car is dragged out of sight by the force of the flooding.

In a meeting held by local officials on September 2, it was announced that more than 200 troops are being deployed to the province to help repair the damage caused by the storm.

The only known casualties due to the severe weather were two German tourists in their 20s who drowned swimming in rough seas on Mallorca, according to El Pais. Credit: Juan José Ceballos Mesa via Storyful
