Cara Delevingne Confirmed She's Been Dating Ashley Benson for a Year
After months of rumors and speculation, Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne made their relationship Instagram official only a few days ago after Cara posted a quick clip of her kissing Ashley in the film Her Smell, which they co-starred in alongside The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss. Now, Cara has confirmed just how long the two actors have been dating: about a year.
While on the red carpet for the TrevorLIVE Gala on Monday night in New York City, Cara opened up about her decision to go public with their relationship recently. Turns out, there were a couple of very important reasons to end the speculation and start confirming.
"I don't know [if it's] because it is Pride, it's been 50 years since Stonewall happened and I don't know," Cara explained. "It's been just about our one year anniversary so, why not?"
Cara also showed love for Ashley while accepting The Hero Award at the gala, telling the crowd (as well as Ashley, who was there, too): "I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are. She's one of the people who helped me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought."
A source also opened up to E! News, giving more insight about Ashley and Cara's relationship, saying, "They are very sweet and loving together. They are always doing simple nice things for each other and it all comes very easy and naturally. They are committed to one another and very much in love."
