Cara Delevingne Just Revealed How Her Relationship With Ashley Benson Helped Her Get Over Her Fears

From Seventeen

Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson have been going strong for over a year, and since they became public recently, they've been packing on the PDA all over town. The relationship is getting pretty serious (if that wasn't made obvious by the fact that the two now reportedly live together), and Cara recently revealed what it is about Ashley that makes their love work.

In an interview with Porter Magazine, the model and actress revealed that before she started dating Ashley, she had abandonment issues.

"I’d never truly let anyone in before, for fear of them leaving," Cara said. "I never really trusted people, or felt worthy of it, and I always pushed them away. She’s the first person that has said: 'You can’t push me away. I’m going to be nice to you, I love you.'" For Cara, this simple comment from Ashley was enough. "I’m just like, wait, so all I have to do is just let you be nice to me? Why have I never done that before? OK."

Cara just recently finished working on her new show for Amazon, Carnival Row, which filmed in Prague, keeping her away from Ashley in LA. Cara explained that while long distance was hard, it was worth it. "Long-distance relationships are always tough," she said. "We make it work, though. We have to. And it definitely makes me a better, happier person."
