Cara Delevingne, Kim Kardashian, Doja Cat stun at this year's Met Gala in honor of Karl Lagerfeld

"Fashion's biggest night"—better known as the Met Gala—is here. This year's sartorial theme, "in honor of Karl," pays tribute to the late fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld, and aligns with the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute's new exhibition called "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty." Though the theme prioritized Lagerfeld's work with famous fashion houses such as Chloé, Fendi and Chanel, the majority of the event's A-list guests carried Lagerfeld's chic design philosophy over to their beauty looks. Below, we've compiled some of the best Met Gala 2023 beauty looks that walked the red carpet.

1. Dua Lipa's eyeliner

Dua Lipa, singer-songwriter and Met Gala 2023 co-chair, sported an on-theme makeup look that included shades commonly found in Lagerfeld's designs—i.e., black and white. Her beat looks to one of the year's biggest makeup trends as well: lining the lower lash line with white eyeliner (current TikTok 'it girl' Alix Earle got everyone hooked on the look late last year). We're guessing that the YSL Beauty ambassador's makeup artist, Samantha Lau, used some of the brand's products on Lipa's eyes, but you can certainly find an affordable white eyeliner to get in on the trend of the moment. 2. Emma Chamberlain's eyeshadow

Emma Chamberlain's Miu Miu ensemble was blue, blue and more blue; specifically, a pastel iteration of the color—perfect for spring, right? The light hue of blue also made its way into her eye makeup look. Her go-to makeup artist Kelsea Deenihan, mixed a variety of shades from four Lancôme eyeshadow palettes to decorate the brand ambassadress's eyes. The Hypnôse Five-Color Eyeshadow Palettes in "Bleu Hypnotique," "Reflet D'Améthyste," "Smokey Chic" and "Drama Denim" were all involved in the process.

4. Gigi Hadid's beach waves

Are Gigi Hadid's flowing beach waves a tribute to her California roots? We sure think so. Though it is unknown if the model's long locks are the work of extensions or a hair waver, this hairstyle is far from being out of reach. The drama continued over to her beauty look, which was made complete with some false eyelashes from Ardell. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo used the Ardell Naked Lashes in "420" "because those strip lashes blend seamlessly into her natural lashes," Vanngo shared in a statement. He also leaned on the brand's FauxMink Individual Lashes in medium and long for some "extra drama."

6. Kim Kardashian's hair straightener

For "fashion's biggest night," reality star Kim Kardashian opted for an updo with some face-framing layers that skim slightly below her chin. Kardashian's go-to hairstylist and close confidante, Chris Appleton, was behind the voluminous look. The styling affair involved loose curls atop of curls, and Appleton used the Dyson Corrale Hair Style Straightener to make them. In a statement, the hairstylist noted that he set the hair tool to the "365°F setting, wrapping the hair around the iron to create curls while polishing the fringe in front that is left out."

7. Doja Cat's lip combination

Doja Cat's fashionable feline look was either a tribute to herself or to the late Chanel designer's beloved cat, Choupette—you decide. Nonetheless, the singer's interpretation of the night's theme got some help from Charlotte Tilbury. Doja's makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas, used a variety of products from the beloved beauty brand, but what stood out the most was the lip combination. To line the lips, Casillas reached for the bestselling Lip Cheat Lipliner in "Pillow Talk" (pink nude), along with the Matte Revolution Lipstick in the same shade.
