Months later, the two were together at the 2019 Grammy Awards when Cardi B took home the Best Rap Album award for Invasion of Privacy. The couple seemed to be on a road to recovery, but now a divorce appears to be imminent.
In the article that accompanies Cardi’s Elle magazine for the September 2020 issue, she explained how the chaotic romance influenced her upcoming album.
“My music is always going to make a woman feel like a bad bitch. When you make a woman feel like she’s the baddest bitch in the room, to me, that’s female empowerment,” she said to Elle. “But this album is going to be really different. Of course, it’s going to have my Lemonade moments, my personal relationship moments.”
