Cardi B comes out of Instagram retirement, announces new song with Bruno Mars

Well, that didn’t last long.

One of the most time-honored traditions of the modern internet is to announce a break from social media and then rejoin shortly thereafter, and Cardi B is the latest proponent of this phenomenon. Less than two days after quitting Instagram and saying she was “sick of this s—,” the Grammy-winning rapper has rejoined the platform for a special announcement.

“Ok so I’m back from retirement to announce I have a brand new song coming out Friday at midnight with Bruno Mars,” Cardi wrote in an Instagram caption beside promotional art for the upcoming single, featuring her and Mars standing together.

Cardi finished the post with the hashtag #twogrammywinningartist. It’s a reference both to her own recent Best Rap Album win for Invasion of Privacy, and to Mars’ prolific history at the awards. Last year, he won Album of the Year, among others, for his album 24K Magic.

This still-untitled song will mark Cardi’s second collaboration with Mars, following last year’s “Finesse (Remix).” Check out her post below.
