Cardi B has given her fans a close-up look at her new face tattoo, which she got in honour of her one-year-old son Wave.

The WAP rapper unveiled a photo of her latest body art on Twitter on Thursday.

The image, from her and husband Offset’s recent McDonald’s campaign, shows the star wearing a white halterneck gown with a chic updo and a red tattoo across her jawline.

She wrote alongside the photo: “I love my face tatt.”

However, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker’s new art has divided opinion online with some warning that a face tattoo is never a good idea.

One follower commented under the post: “OMG not a good move... I love Cardi B, trust.. NEVA the face takes away ya beauty.....”

“Why, don’t mess up your face with tats your body OK but not the face,” another remarked.

In light of the negative commentary, others defended her choice, with a fan writing: “Her body her choice y’all buggin and what she does doesn’t even affect your daily life.”

The music star decided to add to her tattoos last year and enlisted the help of artist Robinson De Los Santos to design the inking.

At the time, De Los Santos shared a 13-second clip on Instagram which showed Cardi covering her face as he worked on the design.

Cardi B shares son Wave and daughter Kulture, four, with her Migos rapper husband Offset, who also has the name of their little girl tattooed on his jawline.

The couple — who were married in 2017 — have tattoos in honour of each other, with Cardi boasting Offset’s name on the back of her leg while he has her name inked on his neck.

They also have matching hand tattoos of their wedding date.
