Cardinal Spirits taking NYE reservations; FARM holiday closure; Truffles wine sampling
It's not too early to make reservations for holiday outings in December, including New Year's Eve events.
Cardinal Spirits is now taking reservations for its special cocktail pairing dinner on Dec. 31 with seatings from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A four-course dinner with two cocktail pairings will be offered for $125 per person. The two cocktails are Terra Holiday Spritz and Amaro Negroni. Appetizer options are cheese board, Terra shrimp cocktail and rum-soaked dates.
Soup and salad options include quinoa salad, hominy soup and pork and bean soup. Entrée options are king salmon with oven-roasted vegetables and couscous); osso bucco (cross-cut veal shanks braised with vegetables, white wine and broth) served with herb mashed potatoes; and gnocchi with tomato-caper bolognese. Dessert options are pound cake martini with Flora Chantilly cream and Amaro cake with Bramble cream.
Seating is limited for the reservations-only dinner that includes dinner, cocktails, tax and gratuity. Payment is due at the time of reservations, which can be made at cardinalspirits.com. Reservations must be canceled by Dec. 17 for a refund. Cardinal Spirits Distillery and restaurant are at 922 S. Morton St.
Now it the time to eat at FARM
FARMbloomington's last seating for 2021 will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 24. The downtown restaurant will be closed until 5 p.m. Jan. 4, when it will reopen for dinner. Chef Daniel Orr said the closure will allow staff to take time off at the holidays, something they want and need.
In January, FARM will reopen for dinner Tuesday through Sunday with brunch offered Friday through Sunday. FARMbloomington is at 108 E. Kirkwood Ave.
Wine tasting at Truffles Wednesday
Truffles Fine Cuisine will offer 30-minute wine tasting Wednesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for $10 per person.
Featured wines include: Mont Marcel Cava Brut Reserva, Ca Del Bosco Cuvée Prestige, Argyle Brut, Jermann Pinot Grigio, Stags Leap Viognier, J Vineyards Pinot Noir, Lyric Pinot Noir, Pride Mountain Syrah, Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon, Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Peak Rattlesnake Zinfandel, Seven Hills Merlot, Allegrini PDT, Renato Ratti Nebbiolo and D66 Others Grenache.
For an additional $5, patrons can sample Tequila Komos Añejo Cristalino, Tequila Komos Repasado Rosa and Tequila Komos Extra Añejo.
