Cardinals allowing teams to speak to DeAndre Hopkins, agent

The Arizona Cardinals are taking the next step in trading wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. According to SI.com’s Albert Breer, the team has granted permission for other teams to speak to Hopkins and his agent. The movie is to try and facilitate something.
As reported by many, the Cardinals are holding steady for their asking price of a second-round pick and something else of value.
There are reportedly five teams in the market for Hopkins.
Hopkins is due $34.4 million in salary over the final two years of his contract. No guaranteed money is due.
He missed eight games last season between a suspension and an injury. He still had 64 receptions (three off the team lead) for 717 yards and three touchdowns in only nine games.
He will be 31 years old this season.
With teams able to speak with a potentially negotiate an altered contract, perhaps we will see some movement sooner.
At the very worst, a deal will get done during the draft. Ultimately, if the Cardinals don’t get what they want right now, they might be willing to bring the asking price down during the draft.
