Cardinals could play Jaguars in London; won’t play in Mexico City in 2021

The Arizona Cardinals were slated to have one of their home games in Mexico City last season. Due to the pandemic, international games were canceled.

They will not play in Mexico City in 2021 but could end up in an international game, according to a report from The Athletic.

While the NFL will not yet return to Mexico City, they are planning on two games in London because COVID-19 is more under control in the United Kingdom than in Mexico currently. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons are going to “host” games in London this coming season.

The Cardinals have a road game scheduled this coming season against the Jaguars, which means they could end up in London. The last time they played abroad, it was in 2017 against the Los Angeles Rams. They were shut out 33-0 and quarterback Carson Palmer broke his arm, ending his NFL career.

The NFL will release its 2021 schedule Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. ET. We will know whether the Cardinals will return to the UK in 2021.
