The Arizona Cardinals will host the struggling Houston Texans this weekend at State Farm Stadium. There is not much history between the two teams. They have faced each other only four times since the Texans were created.

The two teams have split their four games and the home team has always won. The Cardinals are 2-0 at home. The Texans are 2-0 in their stadium.

So this Sunday afternoon, barring a rare tie, someone will take the all-time series lead.

Let’s look back at each of the first four games of this matchup.

This was one of the more frustrating losses the Cardinals had that season. Tom Savage started at quarterback for the Texans and Blaine Gabbert started for the Cardinals.

Gabbert threw three touchdown passes and was picked off twice, and the Cardinals had a 21-17 lead in the fourth quarter, but the Texans scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

The Cardinals went for it on fourth-and-1 deep in their territory and turned the ball over on downs, leading to the Texans’ final touchdown of the game.

Linebacker Matt Shaughnessy returned a fumble for a touchdown and quarterback Carson Palmer had two touchdown passes in the Cardinals’ win over the Texans. Case Keenum started at quarterback for Houston and threw three touchdown passes. The defense held the Texans to only 235 total yards.

This was a game with the Cardinals’ Kurt Warner and the Texans’ Matt Schaub slinging the ball around. Warner passed for 302 yards and touchdowns, while Schaub had 372 passing yards and a pair of touchdown passes. He was also picked off once.

Both teams combined for 89 rushing yards in the game.

Arizona never trailed, jumping out to a 21-0 lead and coasting to the finish.

In the battle of two bad teams, the Texans came out on top. David Carr did not have a single touchdown pass in the game but Jonathan Wells had a pair of rushing touchdowns and Vernand Morency added a third, while the Cardinals used three different quarterbacks in the game, with John Navarre getting the most playing time.
