INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the L.A. Rams because of a tender hamstring and veteran backup Colt McCoy will take over in his place.

It’s the first game Murray has missed this season. He hurt his injury during last Sunday’s 31-21 loss to the visiting Seahawks. It’s McCoy’s first start since November a year ago when he filled in for an injured Murray in three games, going 2-1.

The Cardinals also will be out starting left tackle D.J. Humphries because of a sore back. He will be replaced today by Josh Jones. Also inactive is Arizona’s top outside cornerback Byron Murphy Jr., who is also dealing with a back problem. Trayvon Mullen is expected to take his spot opposite Marco Wilson.

Kicker Matt Prater, meanwhile, did not make the trip to California because of a nagging hip injury he reaggravated late in the week. Tristan Vizcaino, who has kicked for the Chargers and 49ers, will handle the kicking duties against the Rams upon being signed as an emergency replacement on Saturday.

All-Pro safety Budda Baker will be active against the Rams despite dealing with a high ankle sprain and supposedly having a “zero chance” to play by coach Kliff Kingsbury early last week.
