Incorporating Zach Ertz

I do not expect this at all. Ertz is the most accomplished tight end the Cardinals have ever had while in Arizona.

While he might take a game or two to get acclimated and really know what he is doing in the offense, that should not affect the overall offensive production.

Think about this — the Cardinals scored 37 points with no Maxx Williams. So they put up 37 points with Darrell Daniels and Demetrius Harris as their tight ends. The two of them had a combined one target in the passing game.

What Ertz will do is give them another legitimate offensive threat. He is significantly better than Williams as a pass catcher.

Ertz’ career-low 36 receptions last year and in his rookie season are four more than Williams’ career-high.

Best position group?

I think it has to be the receiving room. DeAndre Hopkins’ receptions and receiving yards are down, but the passing game is clicking. Hopkins They are close to having three players pacing for over 1,000 yards.

Hopkins is on pace for 74 receptions for 1,040 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Christian Kirk is on pace for 74, 1,014 and nine touchdowns.

A.J. Green is on pace for 60 catches for 963 yards and nine touchdowns.

Even Rondale Moore is on pace for 68 catches and 810 yards.

They might have three with 1,000 yards and four with over 800. That’s crazy.

Intensive COVID protocols

Yes. They must test daily until they are in the clear. Vance Joseph explained it some on Monday.

“I think once you get four or five tests in a week, they make everyone on Tiers 1 and 2 test daily until you get through a four, five-day period,” he said.

They had to start that clock on Thursday and had positive tests Friday and Sunday. They will likely be under 2020 protocols through this week, provided they have no other positive tests.
