Caretakers in Colorado are seeking better employment benefits

In the state of Colorado, there is a growing demand for caretakers for the elderly and those with disabilities. Problems within the industry are leading many caretakers to leave the business. Things like low wages, a lack of overtime pay, and misclassification of employees as independent contractors are leading to burnout for many of those providers. Melissa Benjamin was in the industry for 20 years before leaving to organize Colorado Care Workers Unite.
