Have you ever wanted to learn how to work with all the fresh local seafood in the area? Chef Michael Melo (M&C Catering) is hosting a combination cooking class and demo so you can see all the behind-the-scenes of working with local seafood while trying it yourself. The class is from 6 to 8 p.m. at New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, 38 Bethel Street, New Bedford. Dinner doesn't have to cost a lot to taste good, Endzone Sports Pub is making dining Monday through Thursday more affordable with a $12 menu. It's not the typical fried food you would expect, the menu offers a Meatloaf Dinner, with mashed potatoes and a vegetable; Bourbon Glaze Chicken with rice and a vegetable; Grilled Shrimp Skewer over rice; Chicken Pot Pie and Shepherd's Pie. Looking for authentic Portuguese food and want to try a little bit of everything? Head over to Cafe Mimo for a $45 dinner for two Tuesday through Thursday. The meal includes two cups of soup, one appetizer, two entrees, and a bottle of wine or a pitcher of Stella. You can try chourico, favas, or fresh cheese to start; and then enjoy any of these entrees: cacoila, fish filets, shrimp Mozambique, fried pork loin, top round steak, or grilled chicken.
