Carlsbad Police Department seeks answers in Fox Street homicide

Carlsbad police sought eyewitnesses in an homicide in Carlsbad on Aug. 7, according to Eddy County CrimeStoppers.

Carlsbad police said the incident that led to the shooting may have been witnessed by other motorists who they are asking to come forward.

Police have not released any information what might have led to the incident, or if they have a suspect or suspects in the shooting.

Police responded to a shots fired case in the 200 block of West Fox Street and discovered one man who had been shot in the head and another man was injured, according to a CrimeStoppers social media post. Neither men was identified to the media.

The injured man was taken to Carlsbad Medical Center for treatment, though there have been no reports of his current condition.

A reward of $500 to $2,000 was offered by CrimeStoppers for information leading to an arrest.
