Don’t call her, maybe.

Carly Rae Jepsen is another high-profile musician who has reportedly parted ways from Scooter Braun as a manager. The Canadian singer first started her business relationship with Braun following the massive success of “Call Me Maybe.” At the time, Justin Bieber heavily promoted Jepsen and her hit song.

According to a new report from AP News, however, Jepsen is no longer working with Braun, and hasn’t “for quite some time.” Even though this is news to most pop music fans, it seems like Jepsen parted ways from Braun before this current onslaught of clients dropping out.

In the last few weeks, Braun has been making headlines for losing clients such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, J Balvin, Idina Menzel, and Asher Roth, to name a few.

According to a Twitter/X fan page @carlyraewiki dedicated to Jepsen, the singer hasn’t been managed by Braun since 2016. However, official confirmation of their split has only been made public now with this new report from AP News.

Interestingly, it seems like Ava Max is still on the roster of clients managed by Braun’s company. Nonetheless, it’s also been reported that Braun is currently stepping away from managing singers, so it’s possible that certain artists will stay on the roster but will have no direct involvement with Braun himself.

It's still unclear why there’s been such a generalized exodus of artists parting ways with Braun in recent weeks. Some of his biggest clients – like Bieber, Grande, and Lovato – haven’t issued any direct statements regarding their departures. In turn, Braun has taken to X to joke that even he is no longer managing himself, which came off as a more lighthearted take on this situation.
