Carly Takes On 'Rolling In The Deep'

Carly Takes On 'Rolling In The Deep'

We live-tweet "X Factor" every week on @HuffPostTeen -- follow along with us Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm EST!

Only Carly Rose Sonenclar can make two of the most over-played songs of all time -- "My Heart Will Go On" and "Rolling In The Deep" -- feel inventive and moving. The 13-year-old prodigy on "X Factor USA" has so far left every other contestant in her dust, and Wednesday's episode was no different. Watch her rendition of Adele's smash hit in the video above.

The judge's responses to Carly's performance were on-par with the standing ovation she received last week: Demi Lovato told her she was proud, Simon Cowell called her an alien (again), and while L.A. Reid said it wasn't her best performance, he admitted that her second-best was better than any of the other contestants' top performances.

This week's show also featured a behind-the-scenes clip that highlighted a lighter, goofier side of the soulful singer: Carly and her older brother are eating dessert, and without warning, she decides to smash her cupcake in his face, giggling hysterically. Why? Because she's still just a kid -- and it was a nice reminder to the audience of that fact.
