Carmen Moore-Zeigler appointed to Montgomery County Commission

Gov. Kay Ivey appointed Carmen Moore-Zeigler to the Montgomery County Commission, according to a Friday news release.

Moore-Zeigler is the owner of the Moore Zeigler Group, a consulting firm with a specialty in growing small minority-owned businesses. In her work there, she helps entrepreneurs with everything from paperwork to obtaining government contracts.

She took over the firm from her late father in 2016 and added her husband's surname to the title.

The appointment comes after Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean died after a lengthy illness in June.

Dean was first elected to the commission in 2000 and re-elected five consecutive times. He was elected vice chairman at the commission's organizational meeting in November 2004 and named chairman in 2009. He served 22 years.
