The Greater Alliance Carnation Festival's queen and court got to work Friday when they stopped for a visit at Alliance Fire Department's main fire station on East Broadway Street. The women got to wear firefighter turnout gear, and also got rides in the bucket of the ladder truck as it rose in the air to heights at which fires are fought from above. They also worked with firefighters using the Jaws of Life tool to remove parts of a vehicle, so they could see what it was like to extricate a crash victim from an automobile at a crash scene. As is typical with this festival royalty crew, they did it all with smiles on their faces. Check out more images from their visit to Fire Station No. 1 in our photo gallery at the-review.com.
