Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Scott Fitterer as their next general manager

After a long search, the Carolina Panthers have their new general manager. Earlier in the day the organization announced an offer, and now the deal is done. According to a statement from owner David Tepper the Panthers have hired Scott Fitterer as their general manager. Fitterer was most recently the former vice president of football operations for the Seattle Seahawks.

Fitterer was part of the group that assembled an incredible draft class for Seattle in 2012, including quarterback Russell Wilson, pass-rusher Bruce Irvin and linebacker Bobby Wagner. In recent years he was something of a “co-assistant general manager” along with Trent Kirchner under John Schneider. Fitterer began as a scout with the Panthers, working up to becoming their college scouting director from 2011 through 2014, when he helped with that strong 2012 draft class.
