Carp(e) diem! A fish fry, now in O’Fallon, reopens this week, has more than cod

Great news, fish fans!

Swansea Fish Stand reopens this week at its new location in the KC Club & Event Center in O’Fallon.

Owner Tim Lillis said in a phone interview that fish will be available 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 21.

Most of the menu items will be familiar to those who frequented the fish stand at its old home at the Swansea Improvement Association.

The menu will offer up cod, walleye, catfish filets, burgers and shrimp, said Lillis, adding that 10 side options will also be available.

In addition, fried chicken will be available 3-7 p.m. every other Tuesday, with tacos (with beef or fish) on alternating Tuesdays.

Lillis also said that burgers, hot wings, pretzels and fries will be available during the center’s Extreme Bar Bingo events.

Swansea Fish Stand was previously located at the Swansea Improvement Association at 216 Service St. in Swansea.

Geoff Schmidt of the Swansea Improvement Association previously stated that their fish stand will open under new management at a later date.

Swansea Fish Stand’s new home in O’Fallon was the previous location of Walton’s Kitchen & Fish Fry. That fish fry moved in April 2022 to the Catholic War Veterans Post 370 at 3535 Route 159 between Smithton and Belleville. It reopened in May 2022.

Swansea Fish Stand is located at 5420 Old Collinsville Road in O’Fallon. Hours for the weekly fish fry at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays.
