November 20's 2022 American Music Awards (AMA) will feature a decidedly Nashville and country music flavor. Aside from NSAI co-Songwriter of the Decade, Taylor Swift tied with Beyoncé for the lead in nominations, with six; both Carrie Underwood and Yola will take the stage at the event airing live from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles at 8:00 p.m. EST/PST on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu.

17-time AMA winner Underwood will perform her "Denim & Rhinestones" single "Crazy Angels," while Yola will make her AMA debut performing her "Stand By Myself" album track “Break the Bough.” The latter was named the American Music Awards "Song Of The Soul." Notably, that achievement highlights -- as stated in a press release -- " an artist that uses music to invoke social change."

Plus, as far as country's categories are concerned, Cody Johnson has been nominated for three AMAs -- Favorite Male Country Artist, Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Song. He leads all country nominees at the ceremony.

Other announced performers include eight-time AMA nominee P!NK premiering her new single “Never Gonna Not Dance Again,” rock band Imagine Dragons pairing with Atlanta rapper J.I.D., plus Afrobeats pair Wizkid and Tems marking their inaugural AMA performances.
