Carrie Underwood is a big-time country singer and mom of two, but the Grammy-winning star always makes time for a good sweat sesh. Despite having a scary fall last year that left her with more than 40 stitches, Underwood didn't let her injury sideline her.

"I was trying to stay with it," Underwood told Women's Health in an interview. "I just feel better when I do something. So if I had an injury that I was working through, I didn’t want the rest of me to feel icky too, you know?"

The star also says that she also loves running around her hilly neighborhood and works out at her home gym. Lucky for us, the mom-of-two, who started her own activewear line CALIA by Carrie Underwood, shares her workouts on Instagram to show just how hard she's working to be healthy, toned, and strong. And, yeah, prepare to be impressed.

Here are some of Underwood's most inspiring fitness Instagram moments.

1. She lifts weights

Underwood understands the importance of strength training for women, so she makes sure not to skimp on strength training. We all know the power of planks. The isometric move tightens your core like no other exercise, but here, Underwood kicks them up a notch with renegade rows, working her back and arm muscles.

Underwood makes this strength move look like cake as she poses alongside her husband and former professional hockey player Mike Fisher. "Better together!" she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.

2. Her boys make working out more entertaining

Workouts are a family bonding event in Underwood's household. It's not uncommon for Underwood's sons, Jacob and Isaiah, to join her and her husband's workouts. "My boys make work outs fun (and a bit less productive, but that’s ok)!" she wrote in this Instagram post. I mean, whatever gets her to squat lower and squeeze those glutes tighter, right?!

3. She faces the same weight loss struggles as any mom

After giving birth to her two boys, Underwood used Instagram to share how she was coping with her postpartum body—something that many moms can relate to. "I’m going to be honest, 'bouncing back' after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah, and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately," she wrote in the caption.

"I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago." However, the country singer says that she would "stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal" and take her weight loss journey day by day until she reaches her goals.

4. She finds ways to squeeze in exercise

Getting in shape doesn't require expensive exercise equipment and hours at the gym. Underwood capitalizes on any opportunities she has to help her get stronger, like during play time at the playground. "Sometimes you have to work your baby into your workout...but that's ok because the world is your playground!" she wrote in the caption, while casually doing pull-ups on a monkey bar.

5. She's willing to try things outside of her comfort zone

While many of Underwood's workouts involve running and lifting weights, she isn't opposed to trying something new. In this Instagram post, Underwood performs a Chaturanga yoga pose with one of her sons and shares her inexperience with yoga: My workout buddy...mama's in @caliabycarrie and the big man is in his fire truck PJs...whatever works!" she wrote in the caption. "PS, please excuse my yoga form...I don't do much yoga, but like to stretch..."

6. She focuses on strengthening her arms

Building upper-body strength is especially important for women because they're constantly carrying their kids and heavy groceries. And Underwood says she's been working on strengthening her arms for this very reason. "I've been working on my arms a lot more this year...loving the progress!" she wrote in the caption. "I figure my son is only going to get bigger and I want to be able to pick him up and haul him around for as long as I can!!!"

7. She isn't afraid of getting sweaty

Posing flushed and sweaty with a bench and medicine ball in the background, we can pretty much guess that Underwood just worked her bum off during this workout—and look at those shoulder muscles! "I'm a sweaty mess, but I'm a sweaty mess in an adorable tank!" she wrote in the caption.

8. She doesn't skimp on core work

OK, we admit that this obviously isn't a gym post, but Underwood is definitely showing us a clear shot of her six-pack. The star looked relaxed—and ripped—as she lounges on a boat. We see you, girl!

9. She gets creative with workout equipment

No gym equipment? No problem! Underwood posted this killer video of her using a kitchen towel for a leg workout. "If you've got towels and a smooth floor surface, you've got yourself a workout!," she wrote in the caption. "No need for tons of equipment or complicated moves. It's @erinoprea approved!! Now get moving!!!!"

10. She wears the right workout gear

Underwood knows that your workout gear can play a big role in your sports performance. That's why she created CALIA by Carrie Underwood, an affordable line of high-quality workout clothes for women of all shapes and sizes. Here, Underwood shows off some of her favorite pieces from her line while working out—proving that her gear is fit for sweat.
