Carrie Underwood's style evolution: From 'American Idol' to country music queen

In 2005, the world rejoiced when country singer Carrie Underwood became American Idol’s season four winner. What did she wear for her life-changing moment? Underwood chose a bold leopard-print halter dress. Not to worry “Care Bears” (the name of Underwood’s fanbase), she didn’t forget her country roots. Underwood took the stage, on several occasions, in cowboy boots. To her first-ever Grammy Awards in 2007, the singer wore a metallic, floor-length Badgley Mischka gown. That night she took home two awards, Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Badgley Mischka soon became a fashion fave. Underwood dazzled at the 2011 Golden Globes in a strapless shimmery number by the American designers. She turned heads at the 2013 Grammys for a number of reasons. One of those numbers being a $31 million dollar diamond necklace. Underwood paired the 380-carat sparkler with a black Roberto Cavalli gown. The necklace, designed by Johnathon Arndt, included oval, pear marquise and round brilliant white diamonds — talk about a show-stopping piece!
