Carroll County sheriff's SRO program receives national award

The Carroll County sheriff's school resource officers are receiving a national award as a model law enforcement agency. While the recognition was unexpected, administrators said it's also well deserved. SROs, as they're known, spend the better part of their days patrolling the hallways of schools across the country. Cpl. Rex Scott made his rounds Wednesday during the lunch period at East Middle School in Westminster. He is one of more than a dozen sheriff's deputies helping to keep schools safe while at the same time building relationships with students.
