Carroll County woman dies after Paris Township motorcycle crash
A 66-year-old woman from Perry Township in Carroll County has died from her injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Monday evening in Paris Township, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Zetta J. Bennett, who was the passenger on the motorcycle, died at Aultman Hospital. Her husband John W. Bennett, 68, who was driving the motorcycle was treated and released from Aultman, patrol said.
Zetta Bennett was wearing a helmet and protective boots. John Bennett was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear, the patrol said.
The couple were riding a 2003 Harley Davidson Road King west on state Route 172 near Robertsville Avenue around 5:48 p.m.
John Bennett lost control of the motorcycle on the edge of pavement and it went onto its side. The patrol is working to determine what caused the crash, but has preliminarily ruled out any alcohol or drug use by either the husband or wife.
