Carroll wants to be an elite wrestler

Jul. 27—MISHAWAKA — Even before kindergarten, Christian Carroll loved wrestling.

"My dad (Anthony) wrestled a little bit in high school (at NorthWood)," said Carroll. "He had this old Iowa University wrestling VCR tape. It was called (Iowa wrestling coach) Dan Gable Ultimate. I was three years old when he first put it in. I remember clear as day watching the video and watching Iowa guys going crazy and wrestling hard and battling and just the style they implemented. That's what I wanted to be.
