The department announced the passing of three-year-old beloved K-9, Bob, Monday morning.
In a post shared on Facebook, Bob’s handler Ofc. Hemingway said he misses his partner and best friend terribly.
“When you walk in front of me, I shall always have your back. When you walk behind me, I shall always be willing to lay down my life for you. And so long as you walk beside me, I shall always call you my brother,” Hemingway said.

Carrollton officials said K-9 Bob died from an unexpected medical condition. Bob died on May 10, exactly one month after K-9 Kilo died.
Despite Bob being shot, and losing his tail, police said he was determined, tenacious, and sweet.
“Thank you, Bob, for loving us, protecting us, and protecting and serving the citizens of Carrollton,” the department said.
