Casualty star Kirsty Mitchell has given fans a glimpse into her real-life friendship with co-star Michael Stevenson.

Kirsty, who plays Faith Cadogan on the BBC medical drama, took to Instagram today (July 14) to share some behind-the-scenes photos of herself and a mischievous-looking Michael, who plays Iain Dean, together on set.

"Acting alongside Michael is an absolute joy! Wishing you all a fabulous Friday filled with laughter and good vibes," she captioned the post.

Fans were delighted to see the two actors enjoying themselves together, with one commenting on the post: "Fantastic, I hope you're having a good day."

"You pair are brilliant," wrote another, while a third added: "Happy Friday to you both. You both always put a smile on my face."

While Kirsty and Michael look content on set, it's been a bit of a different story onscreen for Faith and Iain in recent weeks.

While Iain has been struggling with his mental health, Faith has been struggling to overcome her drug addiction and has been feeding her habit by stealing supplies from the hospital.

Last month, Iain became increasingly more suspicious about Faith's erratic behaviour and soon discovered her stash of pills.

In other Casualty news, it was recently announced that Holby City's Davood Ghadami will return as Eli Ebrahimi for Casualty's special episode celebrating 75 years of the NHS.

Teasing the event, Casualty executive producer Jon Sen said in a statement earlier this month: "In this one-off episode the audience gains a truly authentic glimpse behind the curtain to understand what it feels like to stand in the shoes of NHS professionals."

Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
