CASA raises over $44,000 with Stars Dancing event

FREMONT - CASA of Seneca, Sandusky, and Wyandot Counties raised $44,314 at the 11th Annual “Sandusky County Stars Dancing for CASA” fundraiser, setting a new record.

There was record-breaking attendance with more than 400 people attending the April 15 event at Terra State Community College, CASA reported in a news release.

The Judge’s Choice went to Todd Drusback and his instructor, Lily Adams, who danced a pop medley they called “The Evolution of Dance”.

Carlos Baez was the People’s Choice winner, who gathered 9,631 votes, both in dollars and seat credits.

CASA worked with dance instructors from The Ballroom Company (instructors Nicole Nieves, Dave Ludlow, and Michael Bulger), DanceFam Studio (instructor Antonio Oviedo), and Fremont Ballet School (instructor Lily Adams).

Celebrity dancers included Todd Drusback, head football coach and health and PE teacher at Rossford High School; Tiffany Zilles, Realtor at Russell Real Estate Services; Mike Lento, On Point Wellness owner; Chrystal Kubitz, stylist and skin care specialist at Flora Salon and Spa; Carlos Baez, Sandusky County engineer; and Bridget Coleman, Sandusky County Children Services adoption worker.

Other People's Choice votes and scores were Mike Lento (5,876); Todd Drusback (5,529.25); Chrystal Kubitz (3,484; Tiffany Zilles (3,107); and Bridget Coleman (2,799.79).

The judges were Gil Aromas, Annie Zelm, Elizabeth Pietrykowski and the emcees were Andy Taylor and Jodi Laird.
