Cascade County reports 1 COVID-19 death as Montana adds 1,038 cases

Cascade County reported an additional COVID-19 death overnight, bringing the county's total death toll from the virus to 251.

Cascade County on Tuesday reported 116 new COVID-19 cases. The county has 1,045 active cases and 15,092 recoveries. Great Falls Public Schools this week removed its mask mandate for middle and high school students, and clinics around town are offering COVID-19 vaccines to people age 5 and older. People can also get flu shots or COVID-19 booster doses at these clinics.

Now that children ages 5-11 are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, 46% of Cascade County's eligible population has been fully immunized.

As of Monday, Benefis Health System was caring for five COVID-19 patients in its ICU and 24 COVID-19 patients in its hospital. Benefis has been over capacity for the last few weeks.

Yellowstone County on Tuesday added 183 new COVID-19 cases, Gallatin County added 137, Flathead County reported 81, Lewis and Clark added 71, and Missoula County added 64.

Now that children ages 5-11 have been added to the eligible population, 50% of eligible Montanans have been fully vaccinated.

The clinics below are available to walk-in patients. People age 18+ may be eligible for a COVID-19 booster, and children ages 5-11 are now authorized to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 17: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Paris Gibson Educational Center (2400 Central Ave.)

  • Friday, Nov. 19: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Holiday Village Mall (1200 10th Ave. South)

  • Wednesday, Dec. 1: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at North Middle School (2601 8th St. NE)

  • Wednesday, Dec. 8: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Paris Gibson Educational Center (2400 Central Ave.)

  • Friday, Dec. 10: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Holiday Village Mall (1200 10th Ave. South)

  • Benefis Health System is holding vaccine walk-in clinics for children ages 5-11 every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 8. Appointments are required and can be made at benefis.org/covidvaccine.

  • Big Sky Managed Care is offering pediatric doses by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays and by walk-in on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be made at (406) 315-1989.
