A Casualty of the College Admissions Scandal? The Giannulli Sisters’ Boyfriends

Influencers Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli have split from their respective boyfriends within weeks of each other.

The fallout of the college admissions scandal has been wide-ranging, from criminal fraud charges against more than a dozen parents and a reckoning on the role of privilege in college admissions to, er, Lori Loughlin losing roles on the Hallmark Channel. And now, Operation Varsity Blues claims another casualty: the love lives of the daughters of Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, influencers Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli.

According to Us Weekly,* Bella, 20, and her boyfriend, Nick Penske, have broken up—mere weeks after Olivia Jade, 19, split from her boyfriend, Jackson Gunty. Stating the obvious for anyone confused, a source tells the magazine: “[They] had boyfriends, and both of them broke up with them,” adding that the scandal swirling around their parents has just been “too much to deal with.” Nothing kills young love like your girlfriend’s parents being accused of paying $500,000 to bribe their way into the University of Southern California, even attempting to pass them off as crew recruits when, in fact, they’ve never rowed crew before.

Making the Giannulli sisters’ fate feel even more uncertain: USC is preventing the children of parents embroiled in the scam from enrolling in classes while their cases are under review. Maybe the kids of Operation Varsity Blues need their own dating app.
