Casualty spoilers ahead.

Casualty will see Holby City star Bob Barrett returning as Dr Sacha Levy for this weekend's instalment.

This crossover news was shared across the medical soap's social media yesterday (March 14), with a picture of Sacha in his plum-coloured scrubs.

"Calling all @bbcholbycity fans! [megaphone emoji] Sacha Levy is back! #Casualty Saturday 8:50pm on BBC One," read the caption.

An overwhelming sense of excitement was soon felt in the comment section, as Casualty and Holby City fans alike celebrated Sacha's reintroduction.

"It's going to be great seeing Sacha again," said one commenter, while another posted: "Aww that's made my day, I've missed him."

Of course, we already knew that actor Barrett would be back on the ward this year, thanks to Casualty's Jason Durr teasing as much over on Instagram with a behind-the-scenes shot.

Sacha's return coincides with nurse Robyn Miller's life hanging in the balance following last weekend's dramatic episode – he'll be on hand to help the team revive her.

Holby City ended one year ago, and at the time, Barrett discussed what he would miss playing Sacha.

"I've been lucky with how they've made him very human with flaws, and I think that's been amazing," he said.

"If you do a Shakespeare play, you go through the whole of someone's life in two and a half hours. Whereas here, you go through the whole of someone's life in 12 years, so you get to do it bit by bit so they become unbelievably real, ridiculously real so you don't even have to think how you would feel about a particular character."

Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
