Casualty's Kirsty Mitchell teases Corrie's Melanie Hill's debut

Casualty's Kirsty Mitchell has teased former Coronation Street star Melanie Hill's upcoming debut on the medical drama.
As announced in October 2023, Hill joined the BBC soap in the role of Siobhan Mackenzie, and will make her first appearance on screens later this year.
In a new Instagram post, Mitchell, known to Casualty fans for playing ACP Faith Cadogan, has shared two pictures from the set with Hill, both wearing their characters' dark blue uniforms.

"Can't wait for everyone to fall in love with @melaniehillbilly," Mitchell wr0te in the caption, alongside some pink heart emojis.
Hill has earned a loyal following by previously portraying Cathy Matthews on Corrie between 2015 and 2022.
On Casualty, the soap star will play clinical nurse manager Siobhan, who has been described as "a hardworking nurse with years of experience, who joins the Emergency Department at a time when the cracks are beginning to show amongst the staff".

"Determined to pull her team together, Siobhan tackles the issues of the ED head-on, using her knowledge and strength to deliver what her department needs," the character description continues.
For her part, Hill, who also starred in Waterloo Road before her Corrie stint, explained that her no-nonsense character Siobhan "looks set to ruffle a few feathers".
"She's a supremely competent manager, who is firm but fair and expects nothing but the best from her nursing team," the actress said.
"However, get on the wrong side of her and she'll make mincemeat out of you! I'm sure she's going to ruffle a few feathers in the Emergency Department."
